Grant Requirements

The Estacada Community Foundation was established in 1998 to serve the needs of the greater Estacada and Eagle Creek Communities. The Board of Directors has set the following guidelines for grant proposals.

Areas of Primary Interest/ Criteria for awards

The General Areas of Interest are:

  • Community Development
  • The Environment
  • Natural Resources
  • Education
  • Health Care
  • Research
  • Economic Development

These projects will be operated primarily for the benefit of the greater Estacada Community. Grant money is limited to projects and programs conducted by qualified organizations within the State of Oregon.

Limitations

Activities or programs that are not supported by the Foundation include:

  • Organizations or programs outside of the Estacada area
  • Assistance to individuals or for-profit businesses
  • Program-related loans or investments
  • Grants to organizations which unfairly discriminate on the basis of race, ethnic origin, sex or religion.
  • Grants used for propaganda, to influence legislation, supporting political causes or lobbying.
  • Reimbursement for funds

The Foundation is unlikely to make any substantial grants in the field of religion. Grants for general operating budgets or debt retirement are not favored.

Requests from the same organization will normally be considered only once every twelve months. Ordinarily, the executive officer of the parent organization must approve requests from individual departments or affiliations.

Grant Selection Process

There is no formal submission deadline. The Board of Directors meets monthly to consider requests based on the above criteria. Receipt of the applications will usually be acknowledged within four weeks. Payments are normally made within ten days to two weeks after the grant is awarded.

The Foundation generally discourages pre-application meetings and will contact the applicant if more information is needed.

The Foundation requests the submission of a post award summary report of how the grant the money was used and what was accomplished (within 60 days of award or completion of project).
